Shocking!

Whilst my return to Aus was impromptu and a little 'shocking', it all worked out well in the end. Thanks to Pav and St Judes I have all new and improved bionics in my chest and thanks to the Paddo boys, the orphans are 800,000 Zambian Kwacha better off!

To put that into perspective, a fun night of blackjack and booze raised enough money to pay a teacher's salary for nearly two months in Zambia!

Thanks to Cam Feltham for hosting the night - providing the party pies and chicken chippies, Brad Parsons who once again brought along that bargain $5 Texas Hold 'em kit as well as Mike Shanley, Will Mitchell and Mike Duke who made up the rest of the team.

Thanks boys. It was great to catch up and even better that we raised some dough for the orphans.

It just goes to show how easy it is to help out the orphans. A few emails to some mates, a dozen party pies and $15 each later and the orphans are better off by 800,000 kwacha.......Two months salary for a teacher or enough millie meal to last the kids three months!

Grab a bunch of friends yourself and see if you can feed the orphans for a few months........

Go hard or go home........

I was hoping to post Ue's 100km bush hike this entry but he has lost himself completely in Mozambique and has failed to turn in his assignment......

Nevertheless, the show must go on so instead of Ue's blood, sweat and tears, I present the adventures of Gilly and Orf on Borneo's Mount Kinabalu, 4100m - one of the largest mountains in South East Asia.

So Orf says "Gilly, let's do Kinabalu as training. It's 4100m and a 2 hour flight from KL".

"You mean the one the girls did last year - the two day climb", says Gilly. And Orf says "Yep, that's the one but I want to do it in a single day."

"Mmmmm, " says Gilly, "That's a long way to go for just one day - F**k it, let's do it TWICE in TWO days!"

Did we make it??? Check it out for yourself at....... http://www.youtube.com/user/chrisorford123?feature=mhum

My other training adventures have been local at Gunung Nuang 1500m - Selangor's tallest peak. My partners in crime were my mates Cheryl and Emma.
